113% sales growth on Black Friday

In Germany, consumer sentiment is currently shaped by galloping inflation. Many companies therefore feared that a large part of the population would cut back their spending on gifts.
On November 25, 2022, the annual Black Friday took place again. Retailers celebrate the start of the Christmas business for 24 hours with special promotions and offers. Black Friday has long since become the most important shopping event of the year in Germany as well. According to a representative survey, the online portal blackfriday.de found that 87% of Black Friday shoppers postpone larger purchases until Black Friday because they expect a lower price for the products they want.
113% growth with Bounce Commerce
For the advertisers using our product recommendation AI technology, Black Friday was also the strongest sales day of the year so far.
For this purpose, we analyzed the generated sales and revenue of 160 advertisers on Black Friday and compared them with the previous Friday.
For generated sales, we were able to achieve global growth of 113%. Revenue growth was 72%.
England with the highest sales growth of 210%
Compared by sales figures, England was the country with the strongest growth among all countries where Bounce Commerce is used, with sales growth of 210%.

German online retail recorded a revenue increase of 156%
According to internetworld.de, online retailers in 2022 reported a 156% increase in revenue on Black Friday compared with the annual average. In the USA, retailers even achieved new record results on Black Friday. A report by Adobe Analytics states that more than 9.1 billion US dollars in online sales were achieved. This corresponds to an increase of 2.3% compared with the previous year.
70% bounce rate on Black Friday
Overall, we were able to determine the following key figures for our advertisers on Black Friday via our AI technology:
- Page impressions: 5.65 million
- User sessions: 937,628
- Total shopping abandonments: 658,361 (bounces)
- Average bounce rate: 70%
- Redirects to our AI product recommendations: 238,099 (36%)
- Come-back users due to product recommendations: 109,264 (45%)
